Strange joke?
editAn anonymous editor made this edit a while ago and claims that is was not a joke. Considering the user's talk page, I thought it would be better to direct the user here rather than to discuss the question on our own. - Tournesol (talk) 08:16, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- I was right - now I am not anonim. Her name has many meanings - tulip and morning star but never Venus--Islamocid (talk) 21:01, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- And your source for this would be? - Tournesol (talk) 21:02, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- http://www.khamatova.ru/?i=66 She herself agrees with me--Islamocid (talk) 21:11, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- And your source for this would be? - Tournesol (talk) 21:02, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- Your source states По-татарски имя «Чулпан» означает «звезда рассвета». The RUWP article about Venus states Своей максимальной яркости Венера достигает незадолго до восхода или через некоторое время после захода Солнца, что дало повод называть её также Вечерняя звезда или Утренняя звезда.
- Considering this, I believe claiming that звезда рассвета should not be interpreted as Venus requires some sort of source, at least explaining what celestial object would be called chulpan in Tatar. - Tournesol (talk) 08:48, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
- OK. Our ancestors were really silly. They didnt understand that bright star in the evening and another in the dawn is one Venus. So for tatars Venus in the morning was Star of the Dawn, chulpan. We now know that they were idiots but they called clildren in the name of star Chulpan, not Venus, and Hamatova on her site writes about star withjut mentioning Venus--Islamocid (talk) 13:52, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
