editIn June of 2012 NPR had a special segment on Chris Gay, including personal interviews with his brother and wife. At that time he said he had changed, again, and was taking all of the programs in prison that he could. He requested his parole be delayed 9 months so that he could finish the programs. His request was honored by the parole board and he remained in prison.
As a young child, they were very poor, with the brother recalling giving his sister paper to eat in order to curb the gnawing pains of hunger. After his parents divorce, he and his brother lived with the father, who was largely absent. According to their testimonies, they went to a relatives house to find food to eat, and the relative forced the boys to fight before giving the victor food. Sometimes the relative sicked the dogs on them. Eichelmanii (talk) 12:05, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
It appears that Chris Gay was arrested again in January 2019 after a high speed chase https://www.newschannel5.com/news/little-houdini-arrested-after-high-speed-chase, and that as of April 2021 he had cancer and had requested compassionate release: https://www.chattanoogan.com/2021/4/25/427233/Little-Houdini-Asking-For-One-More.aspx C.
