Rev. Ethan Allen, who returned to Maryland and became the diocese's first historian, wrote a parish history which is at the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress. However, his handwriting, though neat, is extremely small and I found it difficult to read. I understand that Nan Robertson, a former newspaperwoman, wrote a more recent parish history, but I have not yet been able to obtain or read it, nor do I know when my time restrictions will permit. I was however, told that the original tobacco warehouse building burned to the ground circa 1870, which is considerably after Latrobe's career but consistent with the current building's appearance, which IMHO seems more Federal or Classical revival than gothic.Jweaver28 (talk) 10:45, 30 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
