Talk:Chinese chess (disambiguation)

There's More than One

This page should be a disambiguation page, rather than a redirect. —Gamahucheur 13:05, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Redirect v. Disambig

edit

Until-and-unless someone inserts a workable reference to a disambiguation page in the Xiangqi entry, having this page be a redirect will lose anyone and everyone looking for any of the other games called “Chinese chess”. The Gabriel game, in particular, has a significant following. (I'm not actually in that following, so I've not (yet) written an article about it.) —Gamahucheur 00:42, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

“Chinese Chess (disambiguation)” Is NOT a Good Idea

edit

Putting the redirection page in an entry labelled “Chinese Chess” and the disambiguation page in an entry labelled “Chinese Chess (disambiguation)” is unsatisfactory. The otheruses tag, place in the Xiangqi entry, would send people to an entry labelled “Xiangqi (disambiguation)”. —Gamahucheur 00:49, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've placed a disambiguation notice on the top of the Xiangqi article. A term should redirect to its primary use; in this case, Chinese chess, in the vast majority of circumstances, would refer to xiangqi. Also, by the way, please don't do copy and pasting of articles: see Help:Moving a page or Help:Redirect instead. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 14:45, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
The present arrangement is good. —Gamahucheur 02:48, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
