Different Image
I think that this article should have a different image of a chicken sandwich, preferably a picture of a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich instead of this DQ one, since Chick-fil-A invented it. Green Sheet (talk) 04:06, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Thing is, Chik-fil-A DIDN'T invent the chicken sandwich. My grandfather was serving chicken sandwiches in his non-chain restaurant about 15 years before Chik-fil-A opened. I feel like it's such an outrageous claim that they "invented" putting chicken on bread. Anyway, don't see a reason to change it.--68.84.243.141 (talk) 17:00, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Chicken Burger Sandwich
I don't see why a chicken sandwich has to be served on a hamburger bun as this article claims. Chicken sandwiches can be made on all sorts of bread. Is this really the established definition for a chicken sandwich, or just one that works with Chik-Fil-A claiming to "invent" it? I suspect the only thing they invented was the ability to make it into a successful fast food chain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.60.75 (talk) 00:39, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Reliable Source?
Is there an actual reliable source that Chick-fil-A truly invented the chicken sandwich? You know, other than the company itself. I know they make that claim and I don't have any proof that they are wrong, but I still refuse to believe that no one ever created a chicken sandwich prior to 1964.Jdlund (talk) 00:07, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
A chicken sandwich
...is not just a burger. What about BLTs and chicken salad sandwiches? 109.154.146.25 (talk) 14:28, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- I somewhat agree, it seems to me the article is written perhaps from a US (or North American?) POV. At least here in NZ and I think also in Australia, what this article refers to as a 'chicken sandwich' will generally be referred to as a chicken burger. See for example [1] or consider even BK [2] and KFC [3] refer to their chicken burgers as chicken burgers.
- Some fast food chains which retain a strong US influence may call their chicken burgers a chicken sandwich particularly if they have an elongated bun but really for most people they're probably just thought of as chicken burgers. (So too with fancier burger chains which use whole breast not something made of ground chicken that is supposed to resemble whole breast.)
- A chicken sandwich will generally refer to something that's more similar to what we think of as a sandwich, in sandwich (sliced) bread (other type of bread and it'll probably be a roll) and probably with cut up, or perhaps shaved or sliced chicken, generally served cold [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]. What I think you refer to as a chicken salad sandwich (in the UK and the US?) unless you only mean something with mayonaisse.
- Personally, I would suggest this shouldn't be the primary topic, instead chicken sandwich can be a disambig with a link to this article and another appropriate article, but at the very least a hatnote. Either way there should be some explaination of the terminology in the article. Thie article could be renamed, I'm not sure to what, I won't suggest chicken burger per WP:ENGVAR but perhaps chicken sandwich (hot) or chicken sandwich (American).

The page should be chicken burger. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.240.13.245 (talk) 13:24, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
