Automobile accident

edit

Hey all.. Steven Goff of the Washington Post reported by twitter that it looks like Davies suffered a broken leg and some kind of internal injuries from his twitter feed. [1]. Solid enough to put in the paper, or should we wait for it to appear in his normal column and/or other sources? SirFozzie (talk) 21:32, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would wait until it appears somewhere other than Twitter. If the news is true, it'll make it into the mainstream press in due course, and then we can add proper citations to the info. --JonBroxton (talk) 22:28, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Curfew

edit

The team spokesman has come out, in the sourced article, saying that there was a curfew in place and Davies was in violation of it. There is literally NO valid reason it shouldn't be in the article. Just because it might "mar" the story that everyone is trying to put out about him being an innocent victim, doesn't mean its not a valid point to make. Had he been in bed like the rest of the team (per their curfew) he would be ok. That he was injured is notable That he will be out for a substantial period of time is notable. That he broke a team rule is also notable. 99.169.250.133 (talk) 01:34, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yet another source that he was out after curfew [2]
and another [3]

The details are notable and sourced, any effort to remove them is vandalism and will be reported as such. 99.169.250.133 (talk) 01:38, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

What I find jarring in the article is the noting of the length of time the Parkway was closed. Given the gravity of the human injury, does anyone really care what the temporal cost to commuters was? Seems unimportant in the biography of Charlie Davies and inconsequential when viewed from any angle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.107.104 (talk) 01:43, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

While I do believe that the length of time the area was closed down is interesting, I don't find it notable. I do find that it is notable that he was apparently out past a team curfew. I'm not sure why faithlessthewonderboy is so against the information being in the article when its been sourced according to guidelines here. There's a report by Steve Goff at The Washington Post which confirms that he was out against team curfew restrictions. I've readded the information to the article, as it seems to be a personal mission of faithlessthewonderboy to keep it out. SpartanSWAT10 (talk) 03:48, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Have we ever found out who the chick was who was tragically killed? I thought it must have been a celebrity, but I think we would have heard by now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.206.138.33 (talk) 20:32, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
