Charlie's BBC profile gives his first and last appearances as 25 November 1986 and 25 July 1991. However, the official site isn't reliable, and this article says his date of death is 9 July 1991. Can anyone shed any light on his first and last apperances? I'm worried about the first appearance as the last appearance is obviously wrong... -Trampikey(talk)(contribs)16:36, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think that "In July 1991 Dot received news that Charlie had died in a lorry accident but his death was not shown on-screen" means he didn't appear. I couldn't say for sure though. Does his ghostly appearance in The Return of Nick Cotton (2000) count? anemone│projectors21:00, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
His ghost does count in my opinion, because first and last appearances are not in-universe information, it's the date his last episode aired, which is why we have tiffany's last appearance as 31 dec, instead of jan 01, when her DOD is. The character still appeared then, even if it was just a ghost.Gungadin22:12, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also, i'm pretty sure Charlie didnt appear in 1991, unless it was his corpse, because Dot did go to id the body. I think he was last seen alive during the poisoning of Dot storyline in 1990. Apparently, the reason they killed Charlie was because they felt that only the loss of someone close to her would persuade Dot to take Nick in again with his heroin addiction, since he tried to poison her the year before etc. June Brown was really pissed off that they killed Charlie.
