Charles MacCarthy (governor) → Charles MacCarthy (military governor) – Charles Justin MacCarthy was also a governor; the distinguishing factors between them are that the first Charles MacCarthy was a military governor in Africa, and the second was a civil governor in British Ceylon. Further disambiguation is required. Note that there was also a Charles J. McCarthy who was a territorial governor of Hawaii. • @BD2412 and Necrothesp: I was about to close this as "consensus to move Charles MacCarthy (governor) → Charles MacCarthy (British Army officer)" but reading over the nomination again I've realised there's still discussion to be had about the fate of the redirect Charles MacCarthy (governor). Would it be best to:

1. turn said redirect into a disambiguation page and list all of those named in the nomination there
2. redirect it to Charles McCarthy (which is the disambiguation page redirected to by Charles MacCarthy (disambiguation)) and modify that disambiguation page accordingly
3. leave it as a redirect to one of the governors named Charles MacCarthy, in which case a primary topic discussion will need to be had?

The second option is the only workable option. The first is not permitted under WP:INCOMPDAB, and the third would require that it be possible to demonstrate a primary topic at all, which really can't be done for figures as obscure as these subjects. BD2412 T 12:00, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
