Ecliptic and Cetus

Should it actually be mentioned that Cetus is so close to the ecliptic, that a part of the sun passes through Cetus, during a couple of hours each year? It's quite fascinating, I think... Fomalhaut76 (talk) 13:28, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

"The Water"? I've never heard this area of the sky called "The Water". Yes they are sott of watery constellations but that's more astrology than astronomy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.115.47.59 (talk) 00:58, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Some astrologers since the 1990s designated Cetus, whenever the sun crosses the "whale's tail" between April 20 and 30, a new zodiac sign between Pisces and Aries of the newly adopted sidereal astrological zodiac, due to the shift in the ecliptic where the sun, moon and planets orbit the solar system. 71.102.24.62 (talk) 04:38, 27 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's actually on I think March 27 for around 18 hours. That tehcnically constitutes Cetus as a Zodiac in certain systems... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.251.165.65 (talk) 04:29, 13 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

It's /ˈsiːtəs/ but in the genitive surely it's not /ˈsiːtaɪ/ or /ˈsiːsti/... In Star Trek Ceti Alpha V is /ˈsǝti/. Also Tau Ceti. What do people think? -- Evertype· 20:48, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
