Talk:Centre Against Expulsions

The article is about the Centre

edit

Paragraphs about any other initiatives should be moved to new or existing articles. Xx236 (talk) 15:33, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

What other initiatives are mentioned?Skäpperöd (talk) 10:00, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect name of the article

edit

"Expulsions" is an incorerect translation of German "Vertreibungen". The word "Vertreibung" has certain emotional, political and historical flavour. BTW - both creators of the Center weren't "expelled". Summarising - the name "Centre Against Expulsions" is a part of political project. A reader should be informed about the name.Xx236 (talk) 07:10, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The German government, who is in charge of the project, uses this translation (Vertreibung --> expulsion), all dictionaries turn out this translation, English sources on the subject use this translation. Skäpperöd (talk) 10:00, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
If many people are biased the same way, does it make them more right?Xx236 (talk) 11:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Chronik der Vertreibungen

edit

http://www.z-g-v.de/aktuelles/?id=58 presents Center's POV on "expulsions" in Europe. Only selected data about expulsions of Poles by Germans are available there. BTW Demographic estimates of the flight and expulsion of Germans quote selected parts of the table. I have asked for independent opinion [1] .

The table proves that the site is biased - minimizes expulsions by Germans and overestimates the ones of Germans. Such information should be included in the article. BTW - the English version of the site doesn't contain the table. Xx236 (talk) 15:30, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is no "one and only true figure" for how many where expelled. The figure given by the foundation's site is not "minimizing" or "overestimating" anything, it presents the figures the foundation's research turned out as a result, and they are not exceptionally low / high compared to other figures. There is no basis to say the foundation by evil intention manipulated numbers and thus has proven to be evil in all it has ever said and undertaken. Skäpperöd (talk) 10:00, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is a basis to say that the foundation is extremely biased. Xx236 (talk) 11:44, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Support - cleanup needed

edit

The paragraph misinforms about professions of listed supporters. It lacks also sources (since March).Xx236 (talk) 12:12, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Centre has been replaced by the Visible Sign

edit

The German state will organise the Visible Sign, not the Center. Please quote your sources, that the Center will be organised.Xx236 (talk) 09:39, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

You need to provide a source for your claim, the Center was replaced by the "visible sign". HerkusMonte (talk) 15:32, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
You need to provide a source for your claim, the Centre exists. Even the BdV doesn't oppose the Visible Sign, ie. approves the VS. BTW - do you know where is the money collected by local governments for the Centre? This article should inform about any aspect of the Centre.Xx236 (talk) 13:40, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The United Nations' first High Commissioner for Human Rights

edit

"The United Nations' first High Commissioner for Human Rights" means the former HC, not any more a HC. It's not an social Italian group with "Dottore", "Presidente".Xx236 (talk) 13:45, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The centre will open - really?

edit

The government has another project - Visible Sign, so no Centre. The name CAE is obsolete or a name of different project by BdV only.Xx236 (talk) 10:29, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
