Sir George Carey
editthe link to Sir George Carey previously went to a page aboue George Carey - these are not the same two Carey's, so I have altered the link to Sir George Carey instead - just to mark a difference so that this article doesn't imply that the former archbishop of Canterby somehow went back in time and built a mansion in this castle :)
Someone might want to change the link destination to something more appropiate - I wasn't quite sure what best to send it to as as I have no real knowledge of Sir George Carey.
Chuch Well
editAre you sure there's a well in the church? Having just spent a week in the EH holiday cottage, I didn't come across any well in the church at all. There's definitely one in the Well House - by definition - and the one in the centre of the keep isn't reputed to be deeper. It is. petsco —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.73.132.82 (talk) 09:43, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Wells
editI don't remember a church well but could be wrong. And the donkey powered courtyard well is depper I think, because the keep well kept running dry. Xhavnak (talk) 10:47, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Is there a source available for the claim that FitzOsbern both built the castle and used it as his main residence? Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:41, 22 December 2021 (UTC)
