editHow about someone explains all the weird un-linked terminology? Malick78 07:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, this has to be one of the least coherent articles I've ever seen. It's like a bad translation into English from another language. - Shaheenjim (talk) 21:57, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
dexter
editIsn't upper dexter, the upper right? In which case is the image currently a mirror image of what it should be? Aamackie (talk) 20:39, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- The directions are reckoned from the holder of the shield's perspective, not the viewer's. --Daniel C. Boyer (talk) 23:16, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
a cut
edit- The highly unusual usage of a "canton bendwise sinister" appears on the emblem of the 410 Flight Test Squadron of the United States Air Force.[1]
This is used in a labored attempt to blazon a field consisting of a tilted US flag. I'm taking it out: the reader does not need a catalog of every quasi-heraldic freak. (Cf WP:WEIGHT). —Tamfang (talk) 19:25, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Stars and Stripes
editShouldn't the US Flag be an example of a flag with a canton. It's identified as such (in passing) on the Flag of the United States wikipage —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.16.15.215 (talk) 05:33, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- There probably are other omissions, too. Go ahead and add them if you like. —Tamfang (talk) 04:53, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
finality
edit- Flag of Tuvalu is the final flag with the Union Flag in its canton
This could mean "the permanent flag of Tuvalu (successor to one or more temporary flags) has a Union canton" or "this is the last flag that will ever have the Union canton", but I suspect that final here merely means newest. Can someone clarify? —Tamfang (talk) 17:16, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
