I do believe that the assistant executioner was in fact Syd Durnley. I recall from his autobiography that he stated with some calousness that "the big hard man shit himself during the execution" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.69.225.32 (talkcontribs) 2009-01-15T10:44:44‎

Yeah, thanks for that fascinating insight pal. That would be the same Dernley struck off the executioner's list for incompetence and coarsness. I wonder how he would have fared with the rope around his neck instead of putting it round someone else's? What a change articles like this make when compared to the usual mis-spelt rubbish Wikipedia allows on it's pages. It needs nothing added to it, states the same facts the few books on this case have recorded and is well-written and concise. it's pages-->its (possessive). Manytexts (talk) 03:34, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I understand now. Despite this article being of note in that it reports on what was then the longest trial in British history at the time; is still discussed today in the city where it took place; featured a defence counsel who was the first female to lead in a murder case and went on to become the first female judge at the Old Bailey and resulted in the incarceration of one man and the execution of another - that sentence being quashed half a century later - it is of low importance? Perhaps, given that low importance, it should be removed forthwith and the space gained therefrom devoted to a fascinating Wikipedia account of some Hollywood star's rectal surgery. Wikipedia does have a brief to educate after all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.175.85.131 (talk) 02:45, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Cameo Murders into Cameo murder

edit

No evidence that the book has notability, other than that inherited from the crime and trials. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:54, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This proposal has received no discussion, but is actually an argument for deletion. The article Cameo Murders has been unsourced since its creation, and tagged as such since 2014. I have boldly blanked and redirected it. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:40, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
