What

edit

What on earth is that blurb above (starting "hi people its wikipedia"). It obviously isn't offical, otherwise it'd have been proofread for spelling mistakes and capitalisation etc--TimothyJacobson (talk) 18:56, 19 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I removed it. The only other edit to WP by that IP was also to this talk page where he/she removed the "o" from "Low", and broke the WikiProject Amusement Parks|uk=yes|uk-importance=mid template. Both look like "experimenting" or "test edits" to me - I left a note on the IP Talk page -- Begoon (talk) 01:22, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I thought about removing it myself, but have been criticised by other editors in the past for trying to remove un-necessary gumpf (like that) from talkpages--TimothyJacobson (talk) 19:01, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines does say that "Editing – or even removing – others' comments is sometimes allowed. But you should exercise caution in doing so, and normally stop if there is any objection." and goes on to say "It is still common, and uncontroversial, to simply delete gibberish, rants about the article subject (as opposed to its treatment in the article) and test edits, as well as harmful or prohibited material as described above. Another form of refactoring is to move a thread of entirely personal commentary between two editors to the talk page of the editor who started the off-topic discussion." so I think it's fine on this occasion - although in general I wouldn't edit or remove another Editor's comment on a talk page. Certainly, whatever you do, a note on the other Editor's talk page to explain your action is polite and strongly recommended. Begoon (talk) 23:15, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Clean up

edit

I am going to give the page a clean up. At the moment it looks amatuer at best.--TimothyJacobson (talk) 11:54, 11 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Area

edit

The infobox states that the park has an area of 40 acres, but this is unreferenced. It was added anonymously[1] and I can't find a reference for this figure. A search finds several sources (all news items) referring to an area of 140 acres, but this may be for the whole site (possibly including the hotel, which is now in separate ownership). Peter E.
