editThere must be some commentary in the press about him playing against the Oilers for the Stanley Cup, despite his practically being from Edmonton. Especially since he got the team MVP award, and probably won the game with the defence against Pisani. --Saforrest 04:22, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- I've added information about the somewhat difficult win and sourced it. --Wafulz 00:36, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Birthplace?
editJust curious... how does the writer of this page know that Ward's birthplace is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, if Ward maintains he was born in Sherwood Park? I am confused, because I have seen Sherwood Park on several other sites. 65.184.68.189 (talk) 12:23, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Sourcing needed for Schools in Personal Life
editI have removed the claims about his schools in Sherwood Park. This appears to be sourced to now-dead links (one is actually available as a partial archive that does not include the high school), but the refs were actual there to source the claim of his having moved to Sherwood Park at age 10. The school claims were added afterwards in front of the existing sources (around 2008 I believe). The supposed high school in Sherwood Park has bounced back and forth between Bev Facey Community High School and Salisbury Composite High School, and I can find no reliable sources to verify either (various less-than-reliable online sources have repeated both claims). Can anyone provide a reliable source showing which high school is correct? Meters (talk) 04:58, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Cam Ward → Cam Ward (ice hockey) – Cam Ward (American football) is getting a lot of press lately, and is expected to be a high draft pick in 2025. That article also has a clear pageviews advantage. Move per WP:NOPRIMARY. 162 etc. (talk) 22:50, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support. Cam Ward (American football) is already the WP:primary topic with over 97% of recent pageviews. - Station1 (talk) 00:22, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and Station1. There are three men listed upon the Cameron Ward disambiguation page, with no indication that Cam Ward (ice hockey) is primary over the combined notability of the remaining two men. At the very least, Cam Ward should redirect to the Cameron Ward dab page. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 02:14, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Theparties (talk) 02:46, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NOPRIMARY only. However, I would probably oppose setting the American football player as the primary topic in the future. The ice hockey player has about equal, if not more, notability, given he is a former National Hockey League player, played on a Stanley Cup championship team in 2006, won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Stanley Cup Most Valuable Player, played in the NHL All-Star Game, among others. And even if the American football player does join the National Football League, wins the NFL's Super Bowl championship, wins the Super Bowl MVP, plays in the NFL's All-Star equivalent Pro Bowl, etc, I would still argue for WP:NOPRIMARY regardless of any pageviews advantage due to WP:RECENTISM and systemic bias toward the NFL versus the NHL. Zzyzx11 (talk) 15:27, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Bias toward the NFL exists in the real world. It's the most popular US league while the NHL is 4th. It has significantly higher attendance, viewership and revenue. It's the favorite sport of 37% of Americans compared to 4% for hockey (Gallup). It also get double the pageviews on WP. For WP to enforce a false equivalence would be showing our bias. Station1 (talk) 19:48, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- I did not propose Cam Ward (American football) as a primary topic, and none of the commenters so far have suggested it either. 162 etc. (talk) 21:22, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Strong support the ice hockey player is clearly not primary but as noted its probably best to have no primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:37, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support with no primary topic. The Kip (contribs) 08:27, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
