Conviction

edit

It says the band members were convicted, of murder no less, even though it was the audience that used the flares not them, and were specifically told by the band to not use them. Unless there is something missing here, it should be explained how in the hell the Argentinian legal system came to this conclusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.157.155.247 (talk) 19:00, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

The legal situation of the band members is incomplete. The Spanish language version of this page contains the following detail (auutotranslated)

In April 2011, the Court of Cassation reviewed the sentence passed two years earlier, this time condemning all members of the gang as necessary participants in the crime of "Guilty Fire followed by death in actual competition with active bribery". On June 14, 2012 Eduardo Vázquez was sentenced to 18 years in prison in the case of Wanda Taddei. On October 17, 2012, the Criminal Cassation Chamber convicted the entire gang, with immediate compliance with the sentence of all those convicted (fourteen years in total), for the Cromañón case. [ 3 ] On August 6, 2014, the Supreme Court granted the extraordinary appeal filed by the gang, releasing them pending a new ruling. However, in April 2016, the Criminal Cassation Chamber, upon reviewing the ruling, sentenced Patricio Santos Fontanet to 7 years in prison and 5 years to the rest of the musicians. Currently all musicians except Eduardo Vázquez are on probation, after having served two thirds of the custodial sentence.

However, I cannot see where the article originally gathered this information. It should be included, perhaps by someone with better Spanish than me. Jubeanation (talk) 02:07, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
