Plans for CBWT sub-channel
editDoes the CBC have any immediate/medium-term plans for using the DTV sub-channel for CBWT? Just asking. Jimj wpg (talk) 06:58, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
24Hours Talkback
editTalkback was canceled in either 1993 or 1994. Either way, this lead to the return of 24Hours Late Night through September 2000. --PsychoJason 05:17, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
24Hours Weekend anchor
editThere was an alternate (weekend) anchor of the news... I just remember his last name as Moore (not Curtis from CKND), another Moore... What was his first name? -- Jimj wpg 19:17, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
It was Lionel Moore... --Jimj wpg 06:33, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Other CBWT logos
editI have seen a CBWT logo from the late 1970s that was purely the CBC exploding pizza with light Helvetica text to the right:
Channel 6/ Cable 2
Was this ever used on-air?

It's on there now... -- Jimj wpg 02:21, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
I've seen a second occurance of the 1961 "skeleton key" logo, so it must have been used for a bit back then. The one I scanned in was from February '61, and the second one I spotted was from Sept. '61 (from NewspaperArchive.com) --Jimj wpg 06:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
There's one (or possibly two) more logos to find... Between 1979 and 1981 CBWT identified themselves as "CBC Winnipeg" using the same style of typography from the "CBC Manitoba" logo. Just haven't stumbled upon it...yet. --Jimj wpg 06:32, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
CBWAT (Kenora, Ontario)
editThe newspaper television listings from the 1960s and 1970s have different programming from CBWT (Winnipeg, Manitoba). I faintly recall that until about 1979/80 that CBWAT had used the CBWT signal for their local newscast and then switched over to their own signal for their public affairs program...Is there anyone out there old enough or have a better memory than me of this?
I'll have to check if the Provincial Archives of Manitoba might have copies of the Kenora newspaper on microfilm from that time period. That way I can maybe find a CBWAT logo and maybe a promo ad for their local news program. --Jimj wpg 06:34, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Lifelong Kenora resident here, I only remember the late-night news being different. This was actually an 11PM news broadcast done at the CBWT studios in Winnipeg that was only sent out over the microwave feed to the east for CBWT's rebroadcast transmitters in Northwestern Ontario. This news broadcast wasn't specifically for Kenora, it was for all the towns in N.W. Ontario that rebroadcast CBWT, including Dryden, Red Lake, Fort Frances, and so forth. This urban legend of a separate Kenora news show probably got started by cottagers from Winnipeg who tuned into Kenora's channel 8 and saw a different news show broadcast at 11PM. The broadcast for N.W. Ontario was very basic, just a news reader sitting at a desk with a logo in the background. I don't ever recall seeing video clips or a journalist reporting from a scene. The main CBC transmitter and rebroadcast stations in Manitoba that weren't on the eastern microwave feed carried the regular 11PM Winnipeg local news show. Northwestern Ontario saw the regular "supper time" news show "24 Hours" from Winnipeg, there was no separate feed in that time slot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.26.72.233 (talk) 01:13, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:CBWT 1973.png
editImage:CBWT 1973.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:47, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Lee Major (broadcaster)
editThe link in the Notable former on-air staff goes to Lee Major, some sort of Black American, not the Lee Major formerly of CBWT. I will remove the link, because it doesn't go to the correct person from this page. It goes to https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Lee_Major instead.
