Used to go to Manhattan?

The first sentence after the lead says "dairy farmers who used to cross this channel by boat to sell their milk in Manhattan markets". But the strait connects Brooklyn and a tiny island, not Manhattan. Are the dairy farmers based in Governor's Island? SamuelRiv (talk) 05:21, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
