Mackenzie and Origen
editArchaeologist Donald Mackenzie believed that Buddhist missionaries had a good footing in pre-Christian Britain. He quotes the early Church father Origen as saying, "The island (Britain) has long been predisposed to it (Christianity) through the doctrines of the Druids and Buddhists, who had already inculcated the doctrine of the unity of the Godhead" - Origen.[1]
This quote to Origen is dubious at best and has been removed. See: http://www.roger-pearse.com/weblog/?p=2927 --Ryan Baumann (talk) 22:58, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Throne of India?
editThis statement at the start of Mauryan Proselytizing" seems to me to be misleading:
Ashoka ascended the throne of India around 270 BC
Shouldn't that say "the Maurya empire" rather than "India"? Dismalscholar (talk) 19:54, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
