edit

there are too many location links here! Bruny Island is a tiny, tiny, tiny place in the world, and yet you expect a separate page on Fluted Cape, Simpsons Bay, etc etc? Why not make a page for the fish and chips shop and for each shack at Adventure Bay? --User:tilgrieog

It is a long-established Wikipedia consensus that all towns, no matter how small (including ghost towns with zero population), should have their own article. --Gene_poole 05:32, 28 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

According to the Gazetteer of Australia:

  • "Bruny Island" is an island;
  • "North Bruny" is a town or locality;
  • "South Bruny" is a town or locality;
  • there is no gazetted place called "South Bruny Island";
  • there is no gazetted place called "North Bruny Island".

Thought you might like to know. Hesperian 11:53, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is Bruny Island the island that appears as "Marias Eylandt" in Image:Tasmania 1644.png ? --Astrokey44 09:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bruny Island is located in the southwest part of Storm Bay, so the answer would appear to be no. The small island/s shown is obviously Maria Island. --Gene_poole 21:30, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah, thanks. I got mixed up with the scale of that map. So they didnt show Bruny Island separate from Tasmania - perhaps it is "Boreals Eylanden" --Astrokey44 02:41, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removed content that was unverified "Adventure Bay Eco Village operates wildlife tours daily" and link to the website. This material appears to be promotional only and thus in breach of Wikipedia policy. I have also cleaned up links as part of this edit as there are so many links appearing to local businesses that are not (or barely) related to the article. Wikipedia is not a directory of links or intended for business promotion. The links added at the bottom of the article should be only for a quick link to sites mentioned in the article. 1manfern (talk) 13:47, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
