Merge
editPlease note : There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Songs/coverversions with the purpose of trying to establish a standard rule for merge/separate different versions of the same song. Please make known your feelings on the matter.--Richhoncho (talk) 22:53, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
About the title of Brother Louie '98
editIt's true that it's a repackaged version; however, we should state it exactly as it is on the cover, not "1998 Remix" or "1999 Remix" for the UK version. By the way, "Brother Louie'98" is not exactly a remix. Normally, remixes are tracks that are remixed by other artists, for example, "Win the Race" by Modern Talking is remixed by Scooter. You see my point?--Harout72 (talk) 02:12, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
The UK release should read Brother Louie '99 (UK Version).--Harout72 (talk) 02:17, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I know. But, after asking some users again in #wikipedia-en, the titles should be 1998 remix and 1999 remix. Note that I didn't reverted your changes. --MisterWiki talk contribs 02:53, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
I don't think they are entirely aware of what's going on. I'd like to discuss it here again with them if they'd like of course. Because Brother Louie '98 is not a remixed version, it's a redone, re-arranged version. This is quite different from what one would call a remix.--Harout72 (talk) 03:02, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- And 1998 version? --MisterWiki talk contribs 04:24, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
There really is no need for calling it "1998 Version", the title Brother Louie '98 speaks for itself. We should also do the same for the UK version with a difference of Brother Louie '99 (UK Version).--Harout72 (talk) 04:48, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Genres after 1998 reunion
editWe've had the same anonymous IP (starting with 201.) inserting New Wave genre for Modern Talking's 1998 version of "Brother Louie 1998". Please note that New Wave genre has no longer been used by any dance act in Germany after early 1990s. Consequently, Modern Talking came back in 1998 basing most of their tracks on then-German-music-market's demand, which was at the time Eurodance, including "Brother Louie 1998". Some of Modern Talking tracks after their reunion can be viewed as Trance also, including tracks like "Anything is Possible" (from Back for Good), or "Time is on My Side" (From Year of the Dragon), so Trance genre could be included in the infobox. But not New Wave which was popular genre in '80s.--Harout72 (talk) 03:46, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
