on several occasions in this bio...the NFL player Brock Osweiler is listed at 6 foot 8 inches. In the article itself, it has a detailed break down of Osweiler's "draft measurements" in which it says Osweiler is 6 foot 6 and 7/8s inches. I would like Osweiler to be listed at 6 foot 7 inches as a rounded number. stating that he is two different heights is not accurate, nor does it give Wikipedia, an encyclopedia known as more accurate than encyclopedia Britannica, a good reputation for quick facts. Now I know Osweiler is often referred to as 6 foot 8 but his draft measurements say it all, he is barely even 6 foot 7. Gavinhoy (talk) 15:14, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
- We simply go with what NFL.com/Broncos.com lists him as. Yes, he very well may be actually 6'7', but trying to guess every players real height based on old sources can result in WP:OR and edit warring, since most of them are exaggerated anyway. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:42, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
- He measured 6'6 7/8 at the 2012 NFL Combine, and the article has been multiply referenced to reflect his height at the more accurate rounded number of 6'7. Redthoreau -- (talk) 19:07, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Not relevant anymore, but we just go with what his player profile page lists him as, which used to be 6'8 before they corrected it mid-season to 6'7. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:30, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Which team
editI've temporarily fully protected the page so you'll all have to talk about the team issue here, instead of edit warring on the article and run the risk of getting blocked. —SMALLJIM 21:20, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
I've asked User:Bdnh85 to write a short explanation of the issue here. —SMALLJIM 21:35, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
I did nothing wrong. Seems like a bunch of kids trying to change when the teams has yet to announce. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdnh85 (talk • contribs) 21:38, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- When is the announcement due? —SMALLJIM 21:46, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- If he passes his physical it shouldn't be much longer. Fully protecting is a little too much I think.--Yankees10 21:57, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks - there's no fixed date/time then. Regarding the page protection, just look at the recent edit history! It was necessary. —SMALLJIM 22:04, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Lol, every NFL player's article should just get semi protected during the start of free agency. The usual editors could just go through and make all these transactions quickly once the dust settles without having to fix all of the BS. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:43, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Agreed. Most of the stuff can be prevented with just a simply semi-protection, as majority of the edits come from non-logged in users. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:28, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Semi-protecting pretty much stops all vandalism. Of course, there are still a few editors who change things but that's not really a problem. Most vandalism is just spur of the moment stuff. Very, very, very few vandals have accounts that are older than four days with at least ten edits (autoconfirmed). WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:46, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Protection
editYou should thank me. If I had admin powers all the protections would be in place from the start — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdnh85 (talk • contribs) 22:36, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- I thank you, Bdnh85. However, instead of continuously reverting, the recommended action to take is to report the incident at the edit warring noticeboard, which is set up for this sort of problem. I hope this helps for next time! —SMALLJIM 23:21, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Could somebody change the Texans in the first sentence back to free agent? He isn't a member of the Broncos anymore, and Texans isn't "officially" confirmed yet. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:24, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Dissident93: Would changing "... quarterback for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL)." to "...quarterback in the National Football League (NFL)." be appropriate? If anyone disagrees with this, shout quickly. —SMALLJIM 23:30, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Well, if the Texans signing is true, then whatever you put won't last long anyway. But yeah, that would work for the time being. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:32, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- OK, done. Any further requests should be by the standard template. —SMALLJIM 00:10, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Height
editThe article itself states Brock Osweiler is not 6'8. "He measured 6' 6 and 7/8 inches tall at the 2012 NFL Combine, instead of the 6'8" that the media had touted throughout his Arizona State career." However, the personal information on the right still says he's 6'8 foot tall. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:908:184:B320:DC8B:29ED:B2B4:A798 (talk) 22:21, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
