Fluff?
editI don't recall there having been anything particularly notable about Bridlewood's selection of instruments or roster of teachers when I was there. Am I missing something, or should these bits be excised? --Nucleusboy 21:12, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Maybe someone should organize the box of teachers into different subjects? just a suggestion Patar knight 21:41, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I just cleared all the non-notable, non-encyclopedic list of teachers. Very simple. --The UserboxerComplain/ubx 01:21, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
The people there are gangsters!
Please, remain civil. --Patar knight 21:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
maybe somebody should stop deleting the list of teachers, and start working to make them more organizied. Either way, it's pointless to just delete them for no good reason. It's just additional info. And the people who go to bridlewood are gangstas!
The list of teachers is notably as per WP:Notability. --Patar knight 15:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Should the list of instruments be deleted? It seems not that notable, but I guess acceptable. Comments? --Patar knight 15:33, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Colors
editColors means the school spirit colors -- not the colors of the students in the school. This article says "Brown, black, and white." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stevedigsmusic (talk • contribs) 04:27, 13 May 2007 (UTC).
- Don't worry, those are the school colours. L.K 21:01, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Assess
editA very good start article. More content, references and pictures needed to advance to a B. References are important in particular for the sporting claims. It would help if you could expand abbreviations (eg, JK) and explain some of the terms which are somewhat baffling for non-Canadians (Dual Diagnosis, Balanced School Day, Bordenball, grade numbers, etc.). There are for example articles for all the grades which you could link to. See Educational stages. Dahliarose 19:49, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Power Lines
editUser: SesquipedalianVerbiage has recently removed the section on the power line controversy. I agree with this edit as in my opinion the matter does not hold enough importance to be described. The power lines have existed for well over twenty years and nothing has changed. (Nevertheless I would have to contradict SesquipedalianVerbiage when he sees the issue as not directly related to the school.) If another editor disagrees with the edit or has an opinion about the removed section please post your thoughts here. LK (t|c) 22:18, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- That was me, not S3000. My comment was that there was no RS (reliable source) relating the powerlines, the school, and health problems, in the article. All the best, Verbal chat 08:48, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry about that! I looked at the wrong version. (changed above to avoid confusion) LK (t|c) 22:18, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- There was a source attached to that section: "EMFs & Schools & Playgrounds" --Patar knight - chat/contributions 22:49, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- A pdf of a blog post - not a reliable source Verbal chat 07:32, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- A quick Google search of "Kanata"+"Power Lines" turns up: [1], [2], plus the original, [3]. Surely they can at least prove the existence of the controversy? --Patar knight - chat/contributions 02:48, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- All 3 fail RS. Read WP:RS. What you need is a council/govt report linking this school with health concerns, or a local newspaper article. But unless it's a big deal and still continuing, I wouldn't bother adding it. Verbal chat 07:07, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have read it, and in the Primary, secondary, and tertiary sources section, it says: "Primary sources — writings on or about a topic by key figures of the topic — may be allowable, but should be restricted to purely descriptive explanations of the subject or its core concepts." That's what we're doing here, right? --Patar knight - chat/contributions 21:05, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

(Outdent) If there are no further objections, I will re-add the section. --Patar knight - chat/contributions 19:22, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- These are not reliable sources. Take it to the reliable sources noticeboard if you have a problem, or start an RFC. Blogs etc do not count as reliable sources in any way. This is very trivial, and not connected to the school. Verbal chat 13:19, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Basically, there needs to be some indication that the powerline kerfluffle is prominent to the subject of the school. A newspaper article describing the extent of the reaction, especially if it includes several people withdrawing their children from Bridlewood or a similar strong community reaction, would be a great source. This has nothing to do with the validity of the community's concerns regarding the powerlines, only whether those concerns have played a significant role in the school's history. - Eldereft (cont.) 16:00, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply, but I'm extremely busy at the moment. I'll just throw two links here for consideration (copy of e-mail about protests and original website) Gotta run, --Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:08, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

- Neither The Swedish Association for the ElectroSensitive nor an email exchange qualify as reliable sources, though www.mindcontrolforums.com tell me that they are (j/k). Searching for myself, I find a number of mentions of the Bridlewood Residents Hydro Line Committee on usenet posts and the like and some EHS sites mirroring some or all of their content. Their period of activity was mostly pre-internet, though, so the non-extensive web presence may not be indicative. I also found an "activist's viewpoint" presentation by Woodley (the prime mover in this little affair) to a [www.who.int/peh-emf/publications/reports/en/ottawa.pdf WHO seminar on “EMF risk perception and communication”]. WHO certainly qualifies as RS (in this case for vetting that Woodley professed certain ideas and is more notable than just some guy making noise at PTA meetings), and if Woodley merits an article it should certainly be mentioned there. The presentation is not, however, about Bridlewood. I also found hearsay of a mass-walkout by parents, but we would need a reliable source for those numbers. If a significant number of parents pulled their children from the school for at least a little while, that would be a pretty significant event in the history of the school. Electrosensitivity flared up in the British news not all that long ago, which might have prompted a local reporter to revisit the story somewhere more accessible than the Kanata Public Library. - Eldereft (cont.) 19:19, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Re-assessment
editQuite a well written article now, especially for an elementary school. Almost B-class, but it is not quite there yet. Some sections such as History and Music are completely unreferenced, one or two references here at least would be good. I would also suggest using {{cite web}} and other cite templates as appropriate, the references at present are not that tidy. More pictures would also be good, a picture purely of the logo should be in the infobox. Therefore I am giving this C-class. Camaron | Chris (talk) 15:17, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
