Prickly pear?

edit

Does anyone have any kind of source for the Prickly Pear business being some kind of motivation for the attack? it seems like it is made up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.221.84.42 (talk) 04:19, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Historian Walker A. Tompkins has written about the incident in several places. One I can think of offhand is his book It Happened in Old Santa Barbara (1976). It's at the very end of the book. If you want me to cite it I can, I just have to dig for my copy. Antandrus (talk) 02:05, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
