Sales pitch?

edit

The main blurb of the article reads more like a sales pitch/consumer complaint than an encyclopedia article.

We, Blackstone Audio, Inc., are looking into this. This artical was posted without our knowlegde.BlackstoneAudio (talk) 17:50, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Be careful of your very obvious Conflict of Interest. Astronaut (talk) 18:13, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
As long as the public is aware this is not an official description of Blackstone Audio, Inc. If this reads as, "a sales pitch/consumer complaint," it is not the reflection of Blackstone Audio, Inc. Only edit was made by correcting false information of one of our titles. Thank you the Conflict of Interest.BlackstoneAudio (talk) 15:26, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
I've made quite some effort to provide links to people and works listed here. I also reworded the lead section to avoid blatant copyright violations of other websites and to reduce the appearence of advertizing speak. It would be useful if you could go over it again to make sure I've linked the correct works and authors (the idea being to turn remaining red links into blue links). Later I'll come back and remove the remaining non-notable entries (ie. those still with red links for both work and author). Astronaut (talk) 19:05, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Award winning titles

edit

I removed the lengthy list of award winning titles. Such a list is inappropriate for an encyclopedia article. Mentioning a handful in prose form as examples is fine but a detailed multi-section archive of every title that won an award is out of bounds marketing. Anyway we have (or should have) an Audie Awards article where this type of information is maintained, though there are so many awards given out it may be impractical to list them all. -- Green Cardamom (talk) 16:35, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

I am an employee of Blackstone Audio and would like to have company information updated, and remove some misleading content that was posted. Can someone review and implement these changes please? Updated text is below. Thx! HappyListener (talk) 15:43, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Edit first paragraph to: Blackstone Audio, Inc., is one of the largest audiobook publishers in the world, offering a catalog of over 10,000 unabridged audiobook titles and publishing close to 100 new releases a month on CD, MP3-CD and digital download. [1] The company is based in Ashland, Oregon with five in-house recording studios. Blackstone distributes directly to consumers on their ecommerce site, as well as to the library market with titles from Blackstone, Hachette, HarperCollins, BBC and Disney Press.

Remove second paragraph: It puts inappropriate emphasis on that writer and appears to be promotional.

Remove third paragraph to: Consolidated into main paragraph.

I implemented the changes requested. I also updated one of the refs which was copied from the original existing text, and tweaked the wording of the first sentence slightly to match the source material wording. Please review to ensure the update was completed accurately. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 20:32, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

We need a few more edits (listed below) to our company page, if someone would be so kind. Thank you! HappyListener (talk) 00:37, 14 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

1. Please remove Joe Bevilacqua and Jeff Rigganbach from the Narrator list.

2. Please add to main section: Blackstone Audio titles have received many industry accolades, including Audie Awards and Grammy Award nominations. [1][2]

3. Link Hachette, HarperCollins, BBC and Disney Press to appropriate pages.
