Confusing Chronology
editUntitled
editOne deduces from this article that Devine was sacked as Cardinals GM during the 1964 season. We are told Devine then succeeded George Weiss as GM of the Mets. The article gives Devine a lot of credit for building up the Mets team that eventually won the World Series in 1969. And it's stated that Devine went back to the Cardinals in December 1967.
But the article on George Weiss states that he wasn't succeeded by Devine until the end of 1966. So Devine was GM of the Mets for only one year, 1967. There appears to be an error here, and a mis-analysis that gives Devine credit where it was not due. 68.196.1.236 (talk) 23:35, 13 November 2020 (UTC)captcrisis
