The Liz Smith thing
editIt says citation needed. I heard about it on the Paul O'Grady show; so how could I cite that?

What was used before 1950
editThe article says that it was invented in 1950. How was trash handled before? 66.43.220.214 (talk) 15:39, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Plastic bags help to prevent terrorist attacks?
editFrench version of this articly also mentions that in France the public bin bags were made transparent to locate possible explosive devices, it also has a link to this page http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Vigipirate concerning Vigilance part printed on these bags. Should it be added to the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.59.196.253 (talk) 12:11, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Garbage bag vs 'bin bag'
editI hail from Canada, and we most definitely call these things garbage bags. Considering that we invented them (see article and citaton as well as this patent, by the inventors, using the term 'garbage bag' http://brevets-patents.ic.gc.ca/opic-cipo/cpd/eng/patent/764283/summary.html?query=Wasylyk&start=1&num=50&type=basic_search (patent CA 764283)), WHY does a search for 'garbage bag' redirect to a master article called 'bin bag?' Under these circumstances it's pretty obvious it's not the original name, so this appears extremely skewed towards the Briticism. MJXcess (talk) 19:22, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- WP:ENGVAR applies here, but I agree the article is currently an awkward mixture of British and American English. I haven't checked, but I'd guess it was created as a stub in BE (hence the title) and then expanded by North American editors using AE. It should really be rewritten to use BE consistently, with explanations of AE terminology. --Ef80 (talk) 13:28, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
