Bill Gairdner → William Gairdner – See also: http://www.williamgairdner.com/book-list/ Anthrophilos (talk) 19:40, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Supportbut it's not so straightforward – Book and news results are divided when you separate his two claims to notability. From my delimited searches, it appears he is much better know, as an Olympian, by "Bill", with some results for William, but much better known as William in his capacity as author, with very few comparative results for Bill. (This is little surprise given that his books use William as the author credit.) Also, there are more reliable sources overall referring to him as an author than as an Olympian. Accordingly, I support on balance.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:06, 31 January 2013 (UTC)- Change to Oppose. The oppose below informed me that the target is a dab page and not a redirect as I assumed. Far more natural to use Bill than to use William and then need a parenthetical disambiguator. There's nothing in the threadbare nomination to indicate he's the primary topic.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:37, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose - it isn't clear that Bill/William is the primary topic. He only receives about 50% of the pageviews when compared to the other pages on the DAB. Tiggerjay (talk) 23:11, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
