This is a very nice article and does seem to be very good referenced. But I am not able to check the pages for most of the citations. These website either need some kind of subscription to view the pages. In such scenario how can we check the facts? --gppande«talk»07:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

How important was road construction etc.? The Times reported on 8 December 1873 (p. 5, col. a) that "1000 labourers [were] employed on the relief works." 1000 isn't that big a number, given the number of people in India... Ed[talk][majestic titan]03:17, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
