According to the England & Wales Civil Registration Marriage Index, 1916-2005 database (which I can access online at Ancestry.com), Ernest Whewell married Elizabeth Smith in Bury in 1939. So, presumably, that was her birth name. If anyone can find a good secondary source, it could be added to the article (but not until then, I assume). Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:17, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

There are a few mentions of her in this book. I can't understand why it didn't appear when I looked around at the time of creating the article. I may be able to do something with it in the next day or so. - Sitush (talk) 22:13, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I am actually struggling with using the info on pp. 142-143. The article already has a surfeit of citations for subphrases in sentences etc and I can't work out how to include this info without generating still more. - Sitush (talk) 22:49, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
