editTo the envy of this turbulent region, the State of Rajasthan, Western India, is one of the most peaceful places, with a track record of communal harmony. Credit for this mainly goes to the literature and teachings of Bavji Chatur Singhji which greatly influenced the psyche of the people of this province. He may not be “Notable” globally at present because his work is in local language. Using the powerful medium of the Internet, it is intended that his literature, which is of universal appeal and of contemporary significance, is made available globally with Hindi and English translations. The powerful platform of Wikipedia has been selected to achieve this objective and involve people from different places to put the material at one place. The webpage may therefore be retained for at least one year and if it is not found suitable it could be deleted. Three translations are being provided herewith.
Gopal Gandharv’s tribute to Bavji:
Ramayan’s path of righteousness was explained by you, You also enlightened the unlettered with the lofty teachings of the Geeta, You neither dressed in saffron, nor smeared your body with ash, You elucidated The Invisible and the ultimate knowledge, Oh Maharaja, living a simple domestic life, you achieved enlightenment, Gopal (Gandharv) can not but sing your praise!
Path of religion is not such, That there should be so much fight and destruction, Shanker, Buddha, Mohammad, Jesus, Have all taught righteousness, Meaning of their teachings is one, Only the languages differ. -Chatur Singh
The couplet on the portrait sings praise of WORK – Work is Worship
Consider work a bliss, laziness leads one nowhere, Oh fool! Do accept that the life is but short.
Additional citations for verification
editAs desired, Additional citations for verification have been given & marked at appropriate positions in the text. Review of the “Pattern/Style” of “References” in various articles of Wikipedia Pages are “Different”. It is suggested that a suitable style should be patronized/standardized by Wikipedia, which should be communicated to be followed by all the authors. Here I have adopted: Author (year). Title. Publisher. Total pages. ISBN if available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PSKarjali (talk • contribs) 15:17, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
