Plot Completely Incorrect

See http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/razor/ - seems that whoever wrote this page has some very bad information. This badly needs a near-complete re-write.

The Two-Hour Event The special two-hour episode "Razor", which will serve as a backdrop for the events of season four of Battlestar Galactica, tells the story of Lee Adama's first mission as the commander of the battlestar Pegasus — and the harrowing tale of that ship's desperate fight for survival in the immediate aftermath of the Cylon's genocidal siege of the Twelve Colonies.

Lee Adama's new XO, Major Kendra Shaw, is plagued by memories of her service and sacrifices under Admiral Helena Cain, who was able to save her ship during the Cylon attack — but only by making Shaw and her fellow officers rationalize suicidal battle tactics and brutal war crimes against their own people.

In the crucible of war, Shaw must let her hesitation and doubts burn away, until all that remains of her is the honed edge of a living human weapon — what Colonial veterans call "a razor." But an edge so fine cuts in more than one direction. Plot Summary Magazine Tag

I completely agree with whoever tagged it as such. While eloquently written, it reads more like a press release or the back of a DVD box than a Wikipedia entry. I would suggest bringing back some of the quotes from the creative staff.Cg-realms 16:50, 17 November 2007 (EST)

Wet dream?

Ronald D. Moore said in this interview that the "movie" is: "really just a couple of extra episodes for the fourth season that will air earlier than the rest of the season, sometime in the fall. They'll come out on DVD the next day". Battleship vs. Battlestar

If the term Battleship Pegasus is used in the interview instead the correct Battlestar Pegasus, then [sic] has to be used. Either the term is mispelled or the quote is wrong.Luca Mauri 14:22, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Fake Movie Poster Image?

To the note about the BSG75 sign: I remember that someone mentioned that Pegasus was the new lead ship of Battle Star Group 75 after Galacticas decommisioning. Thats also the reason why Pegasus was in the repair dock while the attack occurred. Move?

Should the page be moved to Battlestar Galactica (TV movie), as it will air on television first? Or perhaps film at the end? Illyria05 (Talk • Contributions) 18:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

On this topic, I vote this be moved to "Battlestar Galactica: Razor." In all official SciFi sources I've always seen it displayed that way, never just as "Razor." The same was true for "Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance" and we have that at that title and not "The Resistance (Battlestar Galactica)." Kuralyov 23:56, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

TV.com got the info from The Patriot Resource. Looking at their sources, only one gives the name "Razor", but they themselves don't give a source, much less one that could be taken as official. --Bacteria 09:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Infobox Movie/Television

As someone pointed out, Ronald D. Moore says this is just an extended episode (or two), so I much rather use {{Infobox Television}} instead of {{Infobox Movie}} as it contains the 'Developer' parameter. Disambiguation

Notes

In the notes section, where it says "If you look closely at the cover art. The Battlestar Pegasus is shown to have the registry number BSG-75, which is Galactica's registry number. Pegasus's own registry number is BS-62"

Since it says BSG-75, doesn't that mean they are just part of the same Battlestar Group versus the Pegasus's registry #?

It was an error on the art work that was later corrected. A Carrier Group is a single Carrier + all it's escorts. When there are two carrier groups under the same command, then the usual terminology is Task Force ____ composed of Carrier Group ## & Carrier Group ##. Jon 18:08, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Leaked

"The film was leaked onto a torrent website on the 1st of November 2007 in DVD quality."

I suggest that this page by locked to prevent editing in light of the leaking, in the same way the Battlestar Wiki has, until the official version is screened. Actually, we at Battlestar Wiki haven't locked anything. We just don't want people uploading screencaps or other audio/visual media from the screener to the wiki, since this would likely cause problems for the Wiki (since the content would be directly derived from the screener). razor screenings

I just saw razor in NYC (skipped union square for the bronx), and it was not the full version. It was also presented as a two parter with two xbox ads in between. Since this is OR, well, its OR, you get the point. But do look for reliable sources on this one... it was a big disappointment...--Cerejota 07:07, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Plot section added

I added a complete plot to this page so that it would fit with the rest of the Battlestar Galactica articles in form and content. I also removed some analysis/speculation in the previous versions concerning Gina's final words to Cain. If anyone wishes to edit the page further, PLEASE no more of this revert war--I didn't do everything right the first couple of edits I made, but now I've got the hang of it. Nods to other sci fi

Do we have any "sources" noting the very obvious homages to other Sci Fi that cropped up in this film?

The whole sequence with the team in the baseship and communication via the radio was pretty similar to "Aliens" and there was even a wisecracking goof-off called "Hudson" on the team. The lines "Stay frosty" and "knock it off Hudson" also, straight out of Aliens.

tangled prose

I watched the re-imagined bsg up to the end of season 3. I have not watched razor. As it is currently written, I find this article incomprehensible. Location of the Synopsises of the Razor Flashback Webisodes

Neither in the this TV movie article or episode list does it actually display information about what are in the Razor flashback webisodes exactly. Assuming that that these particular webisodes are "not worthy" of an independant article, it only seems right to have them with the television movie (Razor) unless there is a will to put all webisodes into one singular article (The Resistance, Razor Flashbacks and next round of webisodes indended to be released during Season 4 later on). I personally have not seen the flashbacks but they are argueably equally important as the others (the Resistance) hence thye deserve some individual recognition or section in the article which deals with these webisodes. film or long episode?

Tough call. It was meant as a direct-to-DVD film, until they found out that this would've caused problems since Glen Larson has all the movie rights, which apparently includes anything directly released to DVD. Running Time

In Germany the DVD contains both the original and the extended Cut. The Original Cut ist 88 Minutes long. Maybe this should be added? 87.174.229.72 (talk) 12:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
