Battle in 1663

There was also a battle fought on August 7, 1663 as a prelude to the Siege of Érsekújvár. Ádám Forgách, the castellan of Érsekújvár, thought that about 4,000 Osmanli soldiers have crossed the Danube over a pontoon bridge near Párkany and decided to attack but the enemy force was four times larger than anticipated and Forgách lost most of his men.
