Weren't the Condors originally known as the Bakersfield Oilers when they moved to town? As I recall (and I unfortunately don't have a hard cite for this readily available), the name "Oilers" remained under the ownership of someone else and the team had to change names, becoming the Fog after one year. I certainly know there was a hockey team called the Oilers that immediately was replaced by the Fog the very next season. Alas, I didn't follow hockey close enough to remember the details. The Bakersfield Oilers were around in the 1940's according to hockeydb.com HockeyDB.com's Bakersfield Oilers page, but that was long before the Fog\Condors. nivek1385 00:11, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

2006-2007 Current Roster

  • Yes, I know I have two players wearing the number 44. According to my source (the ECHL website itself), both of those players are wearing the number for Bakersfield, even though this is not actually possible.nivek1385 00:11, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Infamous Moments

edit

The bit about Marty ordering a hit on Scott Gomez is completely baseless and entirely unsubstantiated. Unless a reference can be given for this piece of information, Wikipedia does not deal with rumors and heresay. This bit should therefore be deleted unless proper referencing can be given. Wikipedia is for facts and this is not a fact. Jason (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 18:58, 26 December 2008 (UTC).Reply

Roster

edit

I'm not sure what wikipedia's thoughts on this issue is, but I was thinking that since the roster is constantly changing (and thus constantly out of date and incorrect), it would be better to simply remove it and add a link to the official roster at the bottom. Yeah, it's correct when I update it, but tomorrow it will be wrong again. For articles that have a bigger following, this wouldn't be a problem. However, since this page is undoubtedly not updated very often by people besides myself, it might be better to just get rid of it. Case in point, when I discovered this article it was TWO YEARS out of date. Thoughts? Jason (talk) 19:07, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: not moved. No prejudice against a new RM that discusses moving this articles to Bakersfield Condors (1998–2015) and having the base location as a dab page. Jenks24 (talk) 11:40, 10 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

– Now that the Bakersfield Condors are the name of an AHL franchise (a league which is FAR better-known and getting more publicity), I think it's time we moved the article names. If the new San Diego Gulls can get the main title page, why can't the Condors? Tom Danson (talk) 15:20, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
