Start
editI initiated the article after a visit from Mr Fallon, where I pointed out that he is possibly libeled in the Zoo TV Tour article, where it says he was thrown off the tour. He is considering action against the author of the book cited.
I explained to him the need for references and citations in Wikipedia. I am confident that in time these will be forthcoming and a healthy article about an important figure in pop culture history will emerge. I made the stub just get the wheels in motion. Wwwhatsup 08:35, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Notability
editI would strongly suggest the notability template be removed.
There is no question as to Mr Fallon's notability. He is very well-known as a media personality in Ireland, through tv and radio since the 60's. He frequently has appeared on UK TV as an expert on 70's pop culture. He still annually hosts a New Years Eve special on Irish radio.
Other notable roles :
- Music writer for Melody Maker around 1970; exclusively interviewed John Lennon at Amsterdam Bed-in. Exclusively interviewed Mick Jagger after Brian Jones' death.
- Performed with John Lennon as member of Plastic Ono Band on UK TV.
- Was publicist for Marc Bolan, instrumental in development of glam rock, as already noted on T.Rex wikipedia article.
- Was publicist for Led Zeppelin, travelling with them on the road. Extensive citations in the book Hammer Of The Gods.
- Was publicist for Ian Dury, coining expression Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll in process.
- Managed Johnny Thunders.
- Touring DJ for U2 and Keith Richards.
- Authored published book of photographs of U2 and other books.
- Started international Death Disco club with Alan McGee.
And there's surely more. See his site.

- Sounds great. What is needed, is for some citations to sources that cover him to be added to the article. The sources need to be reliable, and independent of Mr. Fallon, so his website doesn't count. The full requirements are at Wikipedia:Notability (people). Once suitable references are added to the article, the notability tag can be removed. It would also be a good idea if the article gave some indication of what Mr. Fallon is known for. Some of the material above could be put into suitable form and added to the article. --Srleffler 12:58, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I wish there were more hours in a day :) Wwwhatsup 21:41, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- You don't add a notability template if you're looking for citations. Use the citations required template instead. A quick check on Google (or even better, Google Books) would have provided you with sufficient references to denote notability. --HighKing (talk) 19:36, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
