Life Is Real (feat. Snoop Dogg)
edit- Life Is Real (feat. Snoop Dogg) (2007, download only)
Although this single is listed at the official Ayo. site of Universal Music, the German radio broadcaster NDR2 mentions it and some radio station play lists contain it (and here), the title can not be found on any of the download sites. Therefore I moved it for the time being from the article to the discussion page. Optimale Gu 14:03, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

– No reliable secondary sources use this accented O; neither does her blue-check Facebook [1] or YouTube channel [2]. See similar recent discussion at Talk:Mya (singer). 162 etc. (talk) 21:33, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- Her first name in English is "Joy" and the translation into Yoruba language is "Ayọ" ([3]). The word "Ayo" has a completely different meaning, it is the name of a West African board game. Just check nearly all of her album covers, that she resp. her label uses officially the dot under the o. Unfortunately for most publications (aka secondary sources) it seems easier to use the simpler 'o' instead of the correct 'ọ' or the also correct spelling 'o.' (like here), but that doesn't change the Yoruba language or the correct spelling of its words. Optimale Gu 00:29, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- While I understand your viewpoint, the English Wikipedia is unconcerned with the Yoruba language, or stylisms used on album covers. We use the same common name that is used by reliable English-language sources. 162 etc. (talk) 02:04, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- But my point is that in this case it is at first instance not a name but the translation of a specific word from one language to another language. Ayọ is not an invented made-up name and the dot under the o is not added to look fancy or as a gimmik, it is the official word in the Yorubian language for the English word joy. That *Yorubian word* was according to press interviews choosen as artist name and is also used in that way in context with published albums by the singer and its label (is the spelling of a word really stylismus?). If *afterwards* European/US print sources decide to spell the word wrong (maybe because the o with dot is hard to find on English and German keyboards) doesn't mean one should follow and change the spelling of a specific official word in another language spoken by about 45 million people to mean than something completely different. These West African people should decide what word in their Yorubian language translates to the English word joy, not "reliable English-language sources" (although I am well aware of the central position such 'any-language' reliable sources take within Wikipedia, however changing the official spelling of a foreign word takes it a bit too far IMHO). Anyway that's just my opinion and views may differ. Optimale Gu 09:10, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

- Support, but still mention "correct" Yoruba spelling in lede.--Ortizesp (talk) 04:19, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and Ortizesp. Also, there is no indication under the disambiguation page listings at Ayo#People that the name of anyone else named "Ayo" is styled with a diacritic. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 18:57, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
