editHi, If anyone knows who the contract was with. I am curious because my ancestor's are from Bristol with the last name Ashley, and i am curious to know if they or any of my distant relatives were the ones who sold the land that Ashley Down is now on, as I think it would be funny. I believe that My great great great great grandfather would have been Robert Ashley, and his son William Ashley. I have heard he left from the Bristol area around the mid 1800's, around the time the land was sold. At the least I am curious how the place got the name Ashley Down. I am also very curious as to the history of the Ashley's living in Bristol at the time, and where they came from ect.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.215.39 (talk) 04:42, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
