Which army?

Nothing in the article as yet makes it clear to me whether this army fought on the Union or Confederate side of the conflict

This article is under the category of "Union Armies", just look at the bottom of the page. Also the first line says it was virtually the same force as the Army of the Gulf and that article does mention that the Army of the Gulf was a Union army.
