Edit warring over image label
editThe article page has been fully protected for 1 week due to edit warring. Rather than edit warring, please discuss these changes, develop consensus, and seek help resolving the dispute if needed. Perhaps there is a compromise label that would work for everyone involved? Getting a third opinion may also be helpful. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 18:19, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Daniel Quinlan: thanks for the protection, but perhaps an indefinite extended confirmed protection was better suited here? This article falls under WP:GS/AA and the IP shouldn't even edit here, let alone the fact that they just add WP:OR that is not written in the picture label (if you read Russian or translate, in the picture at bottom, it just says "Dancer from Shamakhi" and the painter's name/century), also the fact that Shamakhi dancers weren't of single ethnicity/group. The disruptive revert still remains in the article, likely by the edit-warring IP who created a new account [1]. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 14:13, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- @KhndzorUtogh: Someone can make a request for ECP after full protection is removed. Edit warring requires more than 1 editor. Please work to develop consensus on the image label. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 17:03, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Img label
editOpening discussion per @Daniel Quinlan suggestion: the image label doesn't mention any ethnicity, it's WP:OR which is not written in img credits (what's written is in Russian, read or translate at the bottom of picture, it just says "Dancer from Shamakhi" and the painter's name/century). Also the fact that Shamakhi dancers weren't of single ethnicity/group. Adding any label to this img other than what's written on its own credits is WP:OR, and to edit-war over this original research is WP:DISRUPTIVE. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 14:01, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- I agree. NMW03 (talk) 15:04, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- The city of shamakhi is located in Azerbaijan, its ethnicity is almost entirely Azerbaijani. The claim about the shamakhi dancers being from different ethnicities is one based on your own beliefs, the dancers from shamakhi were almost all of Azerbaijani origin.
