The second paragraph of the lede had some odd mistakes in spelling and grammar which I have tried to correct but it might be worth someone with a knowledge of the subject taking a look at the factual content. The paragraph seemed to be out of step with the overall style of the article so there might be some content issues as well. Tigerboy1966 08:53, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
The article asserts (or asserted), that the wife of Aristobulous who conspired against Antigonus was the later wife of Alexander Jannaeus; aside from the incongruity of this with her famously good character, Graetz (referenced in the article), points out that Alexander was also the High Priest, and thus forbidden by Jewish law to marry a widow; since Alexandera indubitably was Alexander's wife, it would appear that she was not the wife of Aristobulous.--Refoelp

Can someone retype this section, Death and successor. This was something I wanted to get to, but I really lack the ability to do so. Whoever placed that section there just copied and pasted it from the Jewish Encyladpedia. — JudeccaXIII (talk) 01:43, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have added an introduction to the Reign section and added citations to some parts using texts I was able to find. I would like to ask, however, if the name Judas is the same as Judah. A source cited that Arsitobulus I was a Hellenizer and preferred to use his Greek name when he became king. However, while this text identified his Hebrew name as Judah, it did not provide the Greek equivalent. Thanks! Darwin Naz (talk) 23:43, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
