Talk:Area codes 814 and 582

Will split

edit

Surprisingly, a split was approved by the PUC. While no area code was mentioned, my guess is that it will be 582 as that is the only one that is unassignable in 814 that is not already in use or usable. It is also quite possible it could get changed to an overlay, since I can expect a huge uproar by the Erie area and by the industry. Such has recent precedence in several states (WV 304/681, UT 801/385, CA 760/442 were all initially splits that were changed). CrazyC83 (talk) 16:50, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Addition of NPA 814

edit

I don't think the page should have been moved until after the overlay plan is effective. PUCs have changed their minds in the past. Kbrose (talk) 15:54, 17 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Fayette County

edit

"(a small portion may be assigned to 814, but most if not all uses 724)"

Maybe Fayette County ought to be left out until we can confirm? I tried but failed. YellowAries2010 (talk) 20:42, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
