Article Review
editBelow are some of my suggestions for your article: Expand on NSPD-66 under heading Artic Resources. The main article listed, Natural Resources of the Artic, doesn't have information on this. I recommend in Line 222 under Fisheries revised on March 4, 2012 be changed to "Extensive commercial fisheries and...already exist in the Artic North of the Atlantic". Also, under the same Line, "There are no significant commercial fisheries....North of the Bering Strait". I recommend in Line 159 under the heading Interagency Artic Research Policy Committee (IARPC), to put IARPC in parentheses instead of Interagency Artic Research Policy Committee in parentheses. I recommend in Line 139 under the heading Department of Environmental Conservation to change the sentence to "Alaskas's SPAR work group covers many goals within the Artic Council. Overall, the article is great and you have contributed significantly to the article with many expansions. JeOs24 (talk) 23:42, 21 April 2012 (UTC)JeOs24
This article is much need of an update after Trump's executive order deregulating many of the Obama-era regulations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jordanxsteele (talk • contribs) 14:52, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
Article subject
editI'm not sure what the subject of the article actually is from it's content. While well formatted and expansive, it appears inconsistent to me, e.g. the lists of federal agencies with no apparent reasoning for their inclusion. Anyone know? Falcon8765 (TALK) 18:32, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Falcon for the comment. I tried to partially organize the subject of US Arctic Policy by listing all the US Departments and State of Alaska Administrative Departments that are involved in implementing Arctic Policy (which often is just government policy in Alaska, but I tried to focus on Alaska's Arctic region). I do see how this is confusing and have since (partially in response to Falcon's feedback) tried to consolidate some of the less involved agencies under the headers of "Other US Departments Involved in Arctic Policy" and put all "State of Alaska Administrative Departments" under one heading. Also moved some of the Research institutions to the "List of Arctic research programs" page and provided a link. The TOC is much more compact now and I vastly prefer it - hope everyone else does too. Thanks again Falcon. Robindevoe (talk) 23:20, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Cleaning up
editI removed the portion of the second paragraph which mentioned US interests in Arctic since the third paragraph duplicated the information, described more accurately, cited the info., etc. I also included a link to the Obama administration's position on Arctic policy as described by the deputy Secretary of State on 9/30/2010. Cleaned grammar, added links, etc. JaffaJunkie (talk) 23:48, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Cut or simplify?
editThe second sentence of the article, made me feel slightly dizzy:
"In addition, the United States' domestic policy toward Alaska is part of its Arctic policy."
Suggestion for replacement:
"Policy toward Alaska is part of its Arctic policy". --Camouflage Sutra (talk) 18:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Norwegian links and references
editAmbassador Barry White wrote in Aftenposten (2010-12-03, page 3) about the policy. And its relation to Arktisk råd.--Camouflage Sutra (talk) 19:03, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, except your link is errant. I think the Barry White you link to above actually wrote "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe." Cheers.RadioKAOS (talk) 08:42, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
This article needs a cleanup
editThis article needs a cleanup. It does not meet Nordic standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.167.68.107 (talk) 16:30, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
New to wikipedia
editPlan for article
editI plan to take the items that do not apply directly to the article and move them to the article they do apply to or at least suggest the removal of such sections. I also plan to clean-up the clutter on the page and make it more appealing by placing images, tables, and graphs when and if possible.Viamars (talk) 18:10, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
