editReference the article "Anglo-Ottoman Convention of 1913"
1) the external link http://lexicorient.com/e.o/angl_tr_ottoman.htm appears to be exactly the same text as the article
2) the external link http://www.kuwait-info.org/borders.html doesn't work
3) It refers to the convention being declared "null and void" but doesn't specify by whom and on what basis.
4) I am also confused by the statement "However it was the issue over the status of Kuwait that came to be the only long-lived result, as its outcome was formal independence for Kuwait"
The article states that the Convention recognised "the autonomous caza of the city of Kuwait and the hinterlands". There is a link on caza which defines it as "territorial subdivision of a country".
I take that to mean that Kuwait was considered a subdivision of the Ottoman Empire as the to be ruler was a sub-govenor under the Ottomans.
Then the Convention was declared null and void (by whom?) and Britian declared Kuwait independant.
I fail to follow the logic that the Convention recognised Kuwait as a subdivision, the Convention was declared void, Britian declare Kuwait independant, therefore "its outcome was formal independence for Kuwait".
Sorry if this is the wrong place to pose such remarks and questions.

40 miles is not 103 kilometers...
Yemen border
editThe Yemen article says that the border between "North Yemen" and "South Yemen" was established by this 1913 agreement, yet this article does not mention it.Eregli bob (talk) 11:14, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
