Date of birth

@Gregorydavid—you may be right about the date of birth, but you’ve changed it from 1971 whilst leaving a source stating clearly that it’s 1971. (1) Where did you get the 1968 date of birth? (2) Do you know why The Citizen got it wrong? (3) If there are conflicting sources, is one of them obviously better? Docentation (talk) 03:07, 6 February 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your response. I realise that I did not update the reference, thinking in the back of my head that we are a team. I don't know why Citizen got it wrong but I am confident about the date of birth that I provided as I obtained it from CIPC records available online where André de Ruyter was appointed director to Energy Council, a not for profit company. Ah right, I’m eager to find a way to leave this as a reliable source, and CIPC records are certainly more authoritative. I’ll have a think. Is there a way to make a request to the CPIC under the Promotion of Access to Information Act? Perhaps that could then be quoted. Docentation (talk) 01:17, 7 February 2023 (UTC)

On Twitter I have published similar documents from the Company Registration Office which contain full dates of birth but which do not disclose the South African Identification Number. @Docentation- yes, I have uploaded a list of all current directors of Eskom Holdings to Wikimedia Commons and tagged a thumbnail to provide proof of date of birth which does not correspond to one given in a Citzen News report. Gregorydavid (talk) 13:52, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
