There are currently 21 articles for the AFI Awards, one for each year from 2000 to 2020. Each of these pages (with the possible exception of 2001) is very short – a few sentences for the lead and a list of 10 films and TV shows. At most, this is 150-200 words per article, which clearly falls into stub status. They are much shorter than most other awards articles due to the relatively few categories, lack of individual nominees, etc., and as they currently stand, they are doomed to permastub status.

Therefore, I would like to propose a merger of all of the individual yearly awards into a single article at American Film Institute Awards (currently a redirect to this article). The resulting list could be more useful (particularly for TV shows that are recognized multiple times) by combining all of the information in one place, and it would be easier to maintain everything in one place. There is precedent for including individually notable annual ceremonies in larger lists – for example, the Peabody Awards group their winners into decade-long lists (example). Thoughts? Since it has been a week since the notice was posted and there seems to be clear consensus for a merge, I will begin merging the pages shortly. RunningTiger123 (talk) 19:56, 24 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
