prone to vandalism? Why is there so much random vandalism on this page, it's even more than the biographies of openly gay people that I watch.... Jademushroom (talk) 05:49, 10 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I was unable to update the article bc its protected... but Amber Rose is married to Whiz Khalifa. If you google it, several sources say that are married (MTV news, eonline to name a couple). This should be fixed. Meb025 (talk) 06:14, 15 October 2011 (UTC)meb025 Right — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.18.191.177 (talk) 21:52, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ethnicity/origin of "Levonchuck" surname

edit

Her father is white Italian and her mother is black Cape Verdean. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.168.81.68 (talk) 00:05, 28 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The last name Levonchuck is of Ukrainian origin.

Yes, that "Levonchuck" name is unquestionably Slavic. It does look altered a bit, possibly from "-chuk" or "-czuk" rather than "-chuck", and maybe "Levon-" would more properly be "Levan-" or even "Lewan-" (which like "czuk" is more Polish-style). Nevertheless, it is certainly Ukrainian/Russian/Belarussian (or possibly Polish as "Lewanczuk")...

Doing a little digging on Ancestry.com (Census, etc.), it seems there was specifically one family of this uncommon name in Philadelphia in the 1920-40 era (and they did seem to use this spelling). This was an immigrant from Russia or Ukraine (different things showing, terminology about "homeland" was easily confused concerning Eastern Europe in those years) with his wife and kids. A quick Googling and aside from Amber Rose, what mainly pops up is people in the Philly area who seem connected to that family...

Logic would dictate, given how uncommon that name is, that Amber Rose descends from this family, and thus has a bit of Ukrainian ethnicity from her father's side. This is obviously speculation, but it makes sense. Go figure, she hasn't fully researched and/or fully expounded on her genealogy!! (though to be fair, a lot of people, esp. those descended from Ellis Island era immigrants, might at least know what the background of their actual surname is...) 173.77.132.133 (talk) 08:28, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Definitely, there is no Irish nor Italian family name of the slightest resemblance to Levonchuck. Levinczuk and related are Ukrainian as well as Ukrainian Jewish.

Levonchuck is 100% Slavic, with 90% occurence in Ukraine, in the form of "Levonchuk" it's also met in Russia, Belarus and Moldova. The Polish version is Lewończuk. There is some minority with the Lewonczuk surname in Argentina and Italy, but if the surname isn't of Jewish origin, than those people re most definitely Polish/Ukrainian. Some data: http://www.namespedia.com/details/Levonchuk And here: http://www.namespedia.com/details/Lewonczuk It means that if it's her 'maiden name', she is most definitely of Slavic descent, most probably Ukrainian or Polish. There is a singer named Elen Levon, she is Australian of Ukrainian descent, it's possible that her father's family was also named Levonchuk / Lewonczuk. Thanks. 192.162.150.105 (talk) 10:24, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

The last name Levonchuck is a typically Belarusian surname, also met in Ukraine and Russia. Her father MUST be predominantly a Belarusian man, but she is unaware of this fact for some reason. 217.172.240.132 (talk) 13:23, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Conjecture about a subject's ethnicity based solely on their surname is just that – conjecture, and we don't publish conjecture as fact in the encyclopedia. Please note that you have received a final warning. General Ization Talk 14:03, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ethnicity Edit request on 17 March 2012

edit

Please edit Ethnicity. Person in question has stated on public record that they are not Filipino. Please remove any mention of Filipino descent this from this posting. As a member of the Filipino community and one of the millions of people that visits this website I feel like this is an example of erroneous information that gives people false information and may affect the Filipino community. Wikipedia as a site which is in a position of trust, I implore you to correct the listed Ethnicity to be the following "She is of Cape Verdean, Irish and Italian descent." My sources for this information are from person in question's verified twitter account : https://twitter.com/#!/DaRealAmberRose/status/176609019845292032

68.106.99.45 (talk) 22:05, 17 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not done: I removed the content per our policy on biographies of living people. Wikipedia does not censor information, so whether the information is objectionable is moot, but since it is unsupported and contentious it must be removed. I'm not comfortable with twitter as a reliable source since it is self published and first person, leaving it to the editor to decide if the information was offered as truth or as a joke or sarcastically. The best we could claim is that Rose tweeted that her mother was Cape Verdean and her father was half Italian and half Irish. I'll leave that to someone else who is more comfortable with twitter. Stripper

edit

Why can't her comments with regards to Lola Monroe being a stipper be added to?--Ron John (talk) 20:12, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

read WP:BLP and WP:VERIFY and perhaps you'll figure it out--Jac16888 Talk 20:17, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
after reading WP:BLP and WP:VERIFY I still believe at minimum her stating on video-camera in an interview that she was a stripper should be included in her early life section.--Ron John (talk) 20:21, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
As I've already said, if she was a stripper, find a real source--Jac16888 Talk 20:23, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
When you say she are you referring to Lola or Amber? Amber is on camera herself admitting to being a stripper.--Ron John (talk) 20:29, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Origin?

edit

I know absolutely nothing about this person, hence came to Wikipedia, and now I feel I know nothing much more. Where did she come from? Why is she famous? How did she get started? Are there no published interviews where she talks about this? I'm not that interested, I just feel this article is severely lacking credibility bordering on "Why is this a Wikipedia article?" Notable?

edit

Does who you date make you notable? If yes, then fine/ Otherwise...?

Her career as a model has no particular distinction, and the claim that she is a "socialite" is altogether specious and lacks any support at all. Bustter (talk) 03:21, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Search for Amber Rose at amazon, you will find some other singer by the same name, and an unrelated movie about a child predator. So there is nothing notable about her at all. Bustter (talk) 03:33, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I added the biography-cleanup template hoping someone can indicate in the article some notable accomplishment other than getting pregnant Bustter (talk) 03:41, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tabloid sources?

edit

The article says Rose was a stripper, but the source given is the New York Post. Is that reliable? The only other source I found was Fox, which I tend to think of as tabloid journalism.[1] Are there better sources? --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 18:13, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

OnlyFans Notability

edit

I added two sentences about her OnlyFans but they were removed (by @FMSky) for not being notable. Why? I think it's notable that she's a pretty famous person who spreads a sex positive message and follows what she preaches by having an OnlyFans. It's at least not less notable than any of the other business ventures that are already listed. The article is already in the category "OnlyFans creators" so I think it should be mentioned and sourced in the article. Paditor (talk) 15:54, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

It shouldnt have its own section though, maybe under personal life it can be included --FMSky (talk) 15:56, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
