Less notable acts appearing in article body
editSeparately from the 'intended 2014 lineup' section (with the full, final list of publicised acts), there are some acts mentioned in the main article that don't appear noteworthy. The main article shouldn't attempt to list all of the bands at the festival, as it would become unreadable; those near the bottom of the bill that weren't central to the unfolding events shouldn't be included. For example, the very first paragraph states: "... Headlining acts included Marilyn Manson, VNV Nation and The Cult; also due to appear were Fields of the Nephilim, Gary Numan, The Last Cry, Arch Enemy and Amen..." These were all main stage acts with prominent logos on the main publicity material, with the exception of The Last Cry who were eighth from top of the Gothic Stage on Saturday night; certainly less notable than many other bands which don't get mentioned. Can anyone provide an argument as to why The Last Cry should be mentioned so prominently? Thanks. The price of reality (talk) 12:12, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
List of acts for the metal/industrial/gothic stages in article body
editThe third paragraph states: "In addition to the main stage on which Marilyn Manson was due to perform, there were separate stages for industrial/electronica (Front 242, Suicide Commando, Covenant), metal (Paradise Lost, Satyricon, Cradle of Filth), and goth (Peter Murphy, Alien Sex Fiend, The Damned, Clan Of Xymox, Christine Plays Viola, Diary Of Dreams, The March Violets, Skeletal Family)..." For the metal and industrial stages the final headling bands for each of the three nights are named; for the gothic stage however, it starts with the three final headliners but also includes four second/third position bands as well as a seventh position band (Christine Plays Viola). I would like to trim this back to three bands, making it consistent with the metal and industrial stages. Any comments please? The price of reality (talk) 12:12, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

Poster art
editI moved the event's poster art from the article's body to the main infobox since File:Sample Alt-Fest 2014 publicity posters.jpg is a non-free image and it's easier to show the context required by WP:NFCC#8 when a non-free image is being used as the primary means of identification in the main infobox of the article than in a subsection within the article, where the poster itself would need to be the subject of sourced discussion for such usage to not be considered decorative. Poster art is similar to album covers and book covers (see WP:NFC#Cite note-2) in this regard. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:22, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
