Alphabetical list of comunes of Italy → Alphabetical list of comuni of Italy – This is the correct Italian plural form. – Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 21:37, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose – this is controversial as it has been decided elsewhere to use the English communes. Cf Requested move. Alphabetical list of comunes of Italy should be moved back to 'communes'. Oculi (talk) 23:25, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- I.e. "to use the English word "communes""? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment WP:UE use English, not Italian. This is the English Wikipedia, why are we using Italian pluralization? And what of the English word for this concept? -- 65.94.169.222 (talk) 06:37, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose good faith RM suggestion. The lead was also misleading and I have changed it to: "This is an alphabetical list of the 8,100 Italian Comunes (Italian: Comuni) which ..." Gregkaye (talk) 19:21, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment I based this RM on the fact that the main article is comune, and it uses the plural form "comuni". - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 20:44, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose The English plural is "comunes". We use English in the English Wikipedia. If you believe that "comune" is not a word in English, then the next choice would be where the article was last month at Alphabetical list of communes of Italy, from which it was moved without discussion on 1 September 2014. I agree with editor Oculi above, that this was the better choice. --Bejnar (talk) 05:13, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose This is English Wiki not Italian. Szqecs (talk) 10:37, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
