Hi everyone, I'd like to invite Wikipedia editors to exchange their thoughts and share the reason for changes when editing this article. Also, let me shortly introduce who we are and why we'd like to connect with you: the NRF funded research project "Art on our Mind" works towards increasing the visibility of Women-of-Colour artists (with a focus on Southern Africa) on Wikipedia. The research team is made up of volunteers, and we try to engage people in the knowledge-based industries to engage in critical discourse and reflection on biases. You can find our work online (www.artonourmind.org.za_ and/or look up the book chapter "Whitespeak: How Race Works in South African Art Criticism Texts to Maintain the Arts as the Property of Whiteness" which was published in The Palgrave Handbook of Race and the Arts in Education, 2018. In 2019, we received a WMF Rapid Grant for Wikipedia workshops (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/Fouadas/AOOM) and this article is the result of working with staff from the Johannesburg Art Gallery to increase the visibility of Women-of-colour artists on Wikipedia.
