Re: edits by Ustadeditor2011

@Ustadeditor2011: Please do NOT engage in an WP:EDITWAR to restore your desired revisions to the page. I have opened a discussion here for you to discuss your reasoning. Until a consensus has been reached here do not change the article. And please do not excuse your edits with summaries which label my edits as vandalism. I encourage you to read WP:VAND and to choose your words more carefully when dealing with other editors.

Here are the reasons I reverted several of your edits:

  1. You refactored the lead section from "All We Imagine as Light premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on 23 May 2024. It was the first film from India to compete in the main competition since 1994, and won the Grand Prix." To: "All We Imagine as Light was featured at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, and won the Grand Prix award." With no valid explanation except "clean up". Suppressing information is not a clean up. And I can see no reason for not including the premiere date or the aforementioned distinction.
  2. You collapsed the Grand Prix template with no reasoning for doing so.
  3. You altered the first sentence to say "Indian multilingual". Firstly, the film is not of singular nationality, thus per WP:FILMCOUNTRY: "If the nationality is singularly defined by reliable sources (e.g., being called an American film), identify it in the opening sentence. If the nationality is not singular, cover the different national interests later in the lead section." Secondly, describing a film as multilingual is not standard in the very first sentence.
  4. You removed the awards-qualifying release date in India from the infobox to replace it with the national release date. This suppression is not considered valid, as an awards-qualifying release date is indeed the earliest release date in the country (WP:FILMRELEASE). I had opened a discussion on this matter myself at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Archive_84#Awards-qualifying_release_dates which you can read for yourself if you are interested.
  5. You deleted the sentence in the Release section referring to this awards-qualifying release, with no explanation whatsoever.

You have just now restored all of these edits and once again with no valid rationales. Οἶδα (talk) 19:10, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

You are wrong completely wrong. You really do not have proper knowledge, Your statements are self contradictory and misleading - On one hand you are saying It was the first film from India to compete in the main competition since 1994? and on other hand you are saying it is not Indian? Let me correct you that It is an indian multilingual film directed by Indian director, residing in India and shot in India, co-produced internationally. Period. Please Stop putting all ur whims and illusions in this article.Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 12:36, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
How many times you will repeat premiere cannes? premier cannes? what is so specail in premier cannes? 100000 films premiered at cannes till date. How many time u will repeat premier cannes, premier cannes 10 times 50 times? 10000 times? Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 12:38, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just once in the lead section. It's really that simple. But you want to turn this discussion into something it is not. Οἶδα (talk) 18:46, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can insult me all you want. You are not meaningfully responding to any of the points I made. Οἶδα (talk) 18:46, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

India release date

edit

There is no source for award qualifying release date of India. From where on earth u got that stupid date. Added references for India released date. Content is not changed. Keep spectacles and check. Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 05:37, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

A discussion on this dispute already exists above. The article content very clearly sources a Variety article which states the following:

"Spirit Media, founded by “Baahubali” star Rana Daggubati, which acquired India distribution rights for the film, will release the Malayalam and Hindi-language film in limited cinemas in Kerala from Sept. 21, marking its qualifying release for consideration as India’s candidate in the Oscars‘ international feature category."

First you innaccurately evaluate my edits as vandalism; then you post to my talk page suggesting I am "new to wikipedia" and that I "dont know basics" and that I should "Get ur self educated and talk" and that you are "not going to allow ur vandalism and threats"; then you flagrantly ignore my detailed response to the changes you made to the article and why I reverted them each of them; and finally you make a verifiably incorrect claim about the article itself which every reader of the article can deduce is wrong. And you have the temerity to lecture me on anything.
I will also remind you AGAIN to not to edit war to restore your desired version. Editors who engage in edit warring are liable to be blocked from editing to prevent further disruption. Οἶδα (talk) 05:55, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
In which theater or festival it was released on 21 September 2024? why do u wnat to publish inaacurate info? It aquired the rights but film was not released in Kerala and Hindi belt yet. How many times I should tell u? that India release was postponed from sept 2024 and moved to november 2024? Stop adding ur fake release date.
So you have finally stopped insulting me and introduced an actual claim, saying that the film was not actually given a release in September. Do you have a source which contradicts the Variety article? Until you provide a reliable source you are just making comments that are totally unverifiable. And I will remind you AGAIN to not to edit war to restore your desired version. You will be blocked from editing to prevent further disruption. Οἶδα (talk) 19:17, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Give me the date in September in variety and give me the name of the theater in Kerala. Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 03:01, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I will also remind you that the burden of proof is on YOU to show that there was no limited theatrical release. We have plenty of reliable sources which say there was. We do not need a source which specifies the exact theatre it was screened at to make the claim that Spirit gave the film a limited theatrical released on 21 September. However, simply to appease your curosity, I will point to a less reliable source which states the following:

"The movie will have an exclusive screening at the Shenoys Theatre in Kochi, the theatre owner confirmed with South First."

You are wrong - "Malayalam and Hindi-language film in limited cinemas did not release in Kerala On Sept 21". And also dont mix international festival premiers with theatrical releases. Both are completely different sections. Oscars committe says this: Release plans for late-in-the-year films must include a planned expanded theatrical run, as described above, to be completed no later than January 24, 2025. Non-U.S. territory releases can count towards two of the 10 markets.Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 12:24, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Show me any source for your claim that there wasn't a limited theatrical release. Otherwise your edits will continue to be reverted. Jon698 (talk) 17:28, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
There are even articles in Malayalam newspapers confirming Ustadeditor2011 wrong. Mathrubhumi and Deshabhimani published on 21 September confirming the limited release in Kerala:
https://www.mathrubhumi.com/movies-music/news/all-we-imagine-as-light-theatre-release-1.9918860
https://www.deshabhimani.com/cinema/all-we-imagine-as-light-releasing-in-kerala/1138790
Furthermore, the same Hindustan Times article which Ustadeditor2011 themselves cited for the November release states the following: https://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/others/payal-kapadias-cannes-winner-all-we-imagine-as-light-to-release-in-india-on-this-date-check-details-here-101729167091778.html

"The film [...] is distributed by Rana Daggubati's Spirit Media in India and released in select theatres in Kerala in September."

All of the available information suggests they are wrong. If they approached this dispute in a manner which was not continously disruptive, incoherent and insulting then it would at least be inoffensive. Οἶδα (talk) 19:42, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
It was not released in Kerala yet, Rana himself mentioned that Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 03:01, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also:

I have not disrupted anything, I have just added release date and indian film, only these two words were changed. Use ur words carefully and dont give false impression to editors Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 03:05, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
You were told to not restore you revisions before a consensus was reached on this talk page. You did not respect this and instead resumed the edit war. That is, by definition, disruptive WP:DISRUPTSIGNS:
  1. Is tendentious
  2. Is unwilling or unable to satisfy Wikipedia:Verifiability
  3. Fails to engage in consensus building:
  4. Fails to recognize, rejects, or ignores community input
You continuously demonstate a complete lack of understanding of Wikipedia guidelines. Then when presented with information which contradicts what you say, you completely refuse to acknowledge this information. You instead attempt to insult me and obfuscate from the fact that you have provided no reliable sources to verify your claims. And then, again, you have the temerity to warn me about using my words carefully and to suggest that I have given a false impression to editors.
And now, AGAIN, you have restored your desired versions to the article. You are edit warring. You cannot distract from this fact, no matter how boldly you try. Οἶδα (talk) 04:35, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
